Home Away Cottage

Renting a cottage should be enjoyable and stress free, it should be a relaxing vacation.  Our cottage is located on a sandy bottomed secondary boat channel with minimal boat traffic in the South Channel, on Isabella Island, in Menominee Narrows.  As children and now adults, growing up there has been amazing.  Make note that we face south and we have sun all day long!  Swimming, fishing, catching frogs, deer on the beach, water sports, sunrises and gorgeous sunsets, boating, going to restaurants by boat, sitting on the deck, sitting on the dock (boathouse), bond fires and so much more  are simple and amazingly fun things to experience there. 

Unique to Georgian Bay, the South Channel is blessed with hundreds of islands, back bays and channels making it very safe for boating, fishing, water sports and exploring.  Fish travel from Menominee to 5 Mile Bay and can be quite big, like 5 to 6 pound small mouth caught frequently.  You’ll love it!

Home Away has some inner meaning to our family as we spent 21 years living there all year round, travelling by boat, snowmobile and scoot/airboat.  Because of this fact, the cottage is large and pretty modern in its furnishing.  People love that there is a dishwasher, washer and dryer and central vacuum.  It truly is a beautiful cottage and property that has been enjoyed and loved by our family and friends and we are happy to share it with you and yours. 

The cottage is priced to accommodate 8 people even though there is room for more.  It is our discretion if we will allow more people and there are additional charges for those people.  Pets are welcome!  Besides taking care of and respecting the cottage, all we ask is that you leave it as you found it.  The cottage will be clean and free of garbage, and the linens will be ready and we ask that you do your best to leave it that way too please. 

Arrival time is between 1pm & 3pm, departure is 11am on SATURDAY’s.
